The Mediterranean Innovation Agrifood Week 2023 Programme
In the home stretch, the Strategic Action of the Interreg V-A Greece-Italy Cooperation Programme 'CREATIVE@HUBS Holistic networking of creative industries via Hubs' reaches its most important results with the inauguration of the spaces dedicated to innovation and collaboration between the agri-food and creative sectors.
It starts on 22 November with the Mediterranean Agrifood Innovation Hub opening its doors in Valenzano at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute CIHEAM Bari during Mediterranean Innovation Agrifood Week 2023. At 10.00 a.m., with an introduction by Damiano Petruzzella, Scientific Administrator KU Youth Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem of CIHEAM, the first visitors will be welcomed by Donato Pentassuglia - Regional Councillor for Agriculture, Gianluca Nardone - Director of the Department of Agriculture, Rural and Environmental Development of Puglia Region and Gianfranco Gadaleta - JS Coordinator, Interreg V-A Greece-Italy and Maurizio Raeli - Director CIHEAM Bari.
The third edition of Mediterranean Innovation Agrifood Week will take place from 22 to 24 November and will focus on the need to transform the mindset of the younger generations to drive change and innovation in the Mediterranean region.
During the three-day event, more than 30 international experts and 22 managers of business incubators from 12 countries (Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, Greece, Kenya, Lebanon, Palestine, Uganda, Tunisia) will meet to identify strategies, models and tools that can help young people drive change in the Mediterranean.
After the inauguration of the new Mediterranan Innovation Hub, the first panel dedicated to the resilience of rural areas will follow, while the second will focus on food policies in the Mediterranean area, with speeches by experts in the field and young entrepreneurs.
On the second day (next 23rd), Apulian enterprises will have the opportunity to meet other entrepreneurs, experts and strategic advisors during the Matching event, while young aspiring entrepreneurs will participate in the Pitch Competition, presenting their business ideas developed in the context of the Creative@Hubs Project. Furthermore, a workshop will involve incubators, startuppers, administrators and innovation practitioners from the Mediterranean region.
In the afternoon, two more panels will be organised, dedicated to Digital Transformation and New Educational Models, with expert speakers and representatives of various organisations.
The closure of Mediterranean Innovation Agrifood Week will take place on the 24th (10.00 a.m.), in the Great Hall of CIHEAM Bari, with the International Conference on the main theme of the event: The future is young, changing mindset to deal with change.
